This is a traditional deck by Giovanni Vacchetta and was first published in 1893 in Turin, this is a coloured version as they were probably just black and white in the original edition with some copies hand coloured. The original artist was born in 1863 and died in 1940, Giovanni became Master of design and a teacher. This deck is now freely available through Lo Scarabeo and I have number 5 of their limited pre-release version. I suppose that could make it more exclusive, but I am not sure there are 250 tarot collectors who would out bid each other for an early edition. It does though come in a sturdy container rather then the thinner retail box and on a higher quality paper stock, though its not laminated so probably not as durable.
